“ Who
will deal with Ka’b ibn al-Ashraf?”
The
Islamic Response to those Guilty of Blasphemy against Allāh and His
Messenger ﷺ
In
the wake of such recent and unashamed public abuses, much of the
Ummah
has
expressed their anger and frustration, seeking to defend the honour
of their role model, guide, and Prophet, Muḥammad ﷺ .
However, similar to the nation of Jesus, the son of Mary ﷺ
many
of the calls, incitement, and actions of the Ummah
have
been lacking the Qur’ānic and prophetic guidance. This has
unfortunately resulted in a number of individuals going so far as to
denounce the guidance of the noble Book (i.e. the Qur’ān) and the
pristine Sunnah
of
the Messenger ﷺ .
In
light of this, this essay by ‘Abdullāh ash-Shaybānī aims to
clarify and present practical guidance, according to the Qur’ān
and the Sunnah ,
with regards to the Islamically legislated response to such overt
aggression against the religion and its faithful adherents.
