Author: Maulana Ashraf Ali Thanvi RA

Hakim al-Ummat Maulana Ashraf Ali Thanwi (RA) (1863–1943) was one of the most influential Islamic scholars, jurists, spiritual reformers, and authors of the Indian subcontinent. Born in Thana Bhawan, India, he studied at Darul Uloom Deoband under eminent scholars and later devoted his life to teaching, writing, issuing fatwas, and spiritual guidance. His vast knowledge of Qur'an, Hadith, Fiqh, Tasawwuf, and Islamic ethics earned him the title "Hakim al-Ummat" (Sage of the Ummah) . He trained thousands of students and disciples, many of whom became leading scholars of their time.

His greatest achievement was producing one of the largest bodies of Islamic literature in modern history. He authored and dictated works on virtually every branch of Islamic knowledge, including Tafsir, Hadith, Fiqh, Tasawwuf, Aqidah, ethics, social issues, and education. His writings continue to be studied throughout the Muslim world, and many scholars consider him among the most prolific Muslim authors of the last few centuries. His total works exceed one thousand titles when books, treatises, fatawa, malfoozat, letters, and compilations are counted.

A complete list of all his works would run into hundreds of pages, but the principal published works and major compilations include:
